Available postions:
Structural investigations using electron diffraction tomography
Two positions are available immediately to investigate
nano crystalline material with unusual structural effects using our
recently developed automated electron diffraction tomography tool on
a transmission electron microscope.
The successful applicant will join a team developing
methods for quantitative electron diffraction in the High Resolution
Transmission Electron Microscopy Centre (EMZM) at Johannes Gutenberg-University
of Mainz, Department of physical chemistry.
Informal enquiries can be made to Dr. Ute Kolb, e-mail:
kolb@uni-mainz.de
Applications including a full CV should be send to: Dr. Ute Kolb, Johannes
Gutenberg Universität, Institut für Physikalische Chemie,
Welderweg 11, 55099 Mainz, Tel: 0049 6131 3924154, Fax: 0049 6131 3923768
- postdoctoral position (BAT IIa/2)

Your responsibilities are to perform structural investigations
on partially disordered or polymorphic organic structures (e.g. pigments
and pharmaceuticals) including processing of automatically collected
3D electron diffraction data, mathematical work and eventual programming
(Matlab, C++) as well as investigation of precession electron diffraction
effects in organic systems.
Applicants should have a solid background in diffraction
physics and crystallography. Knowledge of the following is desirable:
transmission electron microscopy and electron diffraction, crystal structure
determination.
