Linux

SCSI

My contributions to the Linux kernel are mainly SCSI related.
I wrote the eata-dma driver for DPTs SCSI controllers, assisted with the eata-pio driver, wrote the /proc/scsi code, added support for WIDE SCSI, multiple channels and hot plugging. I did lots of code cleanup und bugfixing in the midlevel SCSI code.

I am currently working on setting up the Linux High Performance SCSI & RAID pages. They will be the long awaited resource for all that need high performance SCSI and/or RAID for security purposes under Linux.

FreeLinux

FreeLinux is a complete POSIX^TM-conformant operating system based on the Linux kernel. The FreeLinux Base System (FLBS) consists of freely distributable software only and is to be installed or upgraded as a single package only. The idea behind this is that a certain amount of software needs to be present in any FreeLinux system to make the documentation of the system and the distribution of optional software easier.

The FreeLinux system is completely bootstrapped for every release, ensuring that a complete rebuild from scratch is possible and that everything is compiled with the distributed compilers and libraries. This is done for each of the supported architectures and only when the new release can be bootstrapped on every architecture it is deemed fit for public release. In addition all supplementary software, like X11 or TEX, is rebuilt with the newly created system as well.

Debian

I was one of the maintainers of the Debian Master Site, which is the central backbone of Debian and where over 300 Debian developers deposit their packages to be processed and mirrored all over the world.

Midgard is a popular German RPG.
I used to play Midgard a lot. Unfortunately I don't have the time to do so anymore. You can find lots of resources at the Midgard-Homepage.

Dragons

I love dragons. I'm not perfectly sure anymore, but I think that the books of Anne McCaffrey got me interested in dragons originally.

Traveling

I like traveling. On my own two (large) feet, by bike, car, train or plane.
So far I've been to the following countries: USA, Mexico, Japan, Maldives, Seychelles, Danmark, Holland, Scotland, England, Belgum, Holland, France, Spain, Monaco, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Switzerland, Austria and probably a few others.
Very high up on the list of countrys still I want to visit are:
Australia, Canada, Sweden,.....
