Historic Overview

Due to the pottery and stamp seals found in Dehno the settlement must have been founded in the 4th millennium B.C. It seems to have grown in size during the second millennium B.C.

Several inscribed bricks are known from Dehno which attested that in the Middle Elamite period Igi-hatet built a temple for the goddess Manzat. The temple was restored later by Šutruk-Nahhunte (Mofidi-Nasrabadi 2022, 872-73 and Tab. 34.3; Tab. 34.5).

After Elamite periods the city was settled in the Parthian and Islamic eras as a high quantity of their pottery on the surface of the hill shows.
